A Message from the Secretary General of FMUN 2009
Distinguished Delegates,
Welcome to the Florida Model United Nations (FMUN) conference! It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to this year’s conference held in Gainesville, Florida. This year the staff of FMUN has selected a variety of committees to help you develop an understanding of international politics and beyond.
This educational conference has been introducing and expanding Model United Nations to college students in the Southeast for three years and takes pride in being the stepping stone in your MUN education. With a focus on learning, this is an ideal conference for first time delegates and an amazing opportunity to expand the knowledge of those distinguished delegates who have been a part of the MUN community.
Florida Model United Nations focuses on promoting international education through global knowledge, negotiation, and resolution writing. Through research preparation and assistance from staff, delegates participating in FMUN will represent the best that MUN delegates have to offer.

Our conference allows students from all levels of experience with Model United Nations to engage in a simulation of the United Nations, by representing a country in one of three committees, while taking part in constructive debate that will discuss complex international issues.
